There are numerous things to do in and around the Village of Walton.
Fishermen love the west branch of the Delaware River, a beautiful and well-stocked fly-fishing river, which runs straight through the Village of Walton. For those who are more interested in lake fishing, there are two large reservoirs amply stocked with trout. One is an overwhelming twenty miles long!
Golfers will be happy to find no shortage of courses on which to play. One of the local colleges, Delhi College, has a golf course maintenance program, and Delaware County has greatly benefited from the talent this program produces. There are over a half a dozen courses in the area, in varying degrees of difficulty.
Horse lovers can take a lesson or head out on trail with a knowledgeable and friendly guide. The vistas provided from many of the trails are simply breathtaking, particularly during the autumn months when the leaves are changing.
Bear Spring State Park is located just outside the Village of Walton. It covers 7141 acres and has an extensively marked trail system. There you can hike, mountain bike, cross-country ski, camp, fish, and swim in the State Park's swimming lake.
Downhill skiers should note that Bobcat Mountain is located just twenty-five minutes away and Belleayre Mountain is located forty-five minutes away, both east of Walton.
