The Delaware County Fair is by far the most anticipated event of the year in Walton. Touted as the largest county fair in the state, it features events ranging from livestock competitions, demolition derbies, and country music concerts. In addition, there are many booths, games, and a huge selection of food to enjoy.
Another fun annual event in the Village of Walton is the Civil War Days. The Civil War weekend features villagers re-enacting parts such as Abe Lincoln and Mary Todd, and locals dressed as both Union and Confederate soldiers. The highlight of the weekend is a staged battle just outside the old time camp that is erected on the field next to the Walton High School.
Walton loves any excuse to throw a parade, and thusly, it hosts many
parades throughout the year. There are parades with children showing
off their costumes at Halloween, parades with beautiful classic cars,
a yearly Christmas parade, welcome home parades for soldiers returning
from overseas and the Walton Central School homecoming parade..
Other events include a weekly Farmer's Market during the summer months, the Bear Spring Mountain Summer Pleasure Ride, and the American Cancer Society's Harvest Festival in October.
