Welcome to the Village of Walton website. The Village of Walton is a quiet, historic community, nestled in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains. Incorporated in 1851, the Village has had a rich history of industrial and commercial businesses. Many of our "old timers" remember a bustling downtown with a railroad running through next to the Delaware River. Walton boasts an excellent education system, with a large following for our sports teams and cultural activities, and is home to many denominations of churches, its own hospital and many volunteer organizations. The volunteer fire department is one of the best equipped and manned fire departments in the area. Walton is host to the annual Delaware County Fair in August each year. This event brings thousands of people into our Community. We have an operating theater, which also presents several live productions each year. Many different restaurants and shops line our business district. One of Walton's best features is its' water. Having won the Best Tasting water contest in New York once, we tied for second in our division this year at the NYS Fair in Syracuse. In the fall, we experience one of the most beautiful areas in the world with the rich colors of the leaves of the surrounding mountains against the blue skies. We encourage people to come and experience our beauty and serenity.
