As a NYC area transplant to our village, I just want to thank all those involved in capturing the special element that is our village of Walton portrayed in this website. Bravo to Julia Balfour for the beautiful job in constructing this site. It finally sends a small town yet sophiticated message of how fortunate we are to have a village as "special" as Walton. And is a catalyst for businesses and residents alike to join this special community. Again outstanding website...OUTSTANDING community!!

I would like to thank Julia Balfour for an excellant job constructing this site for all to view and be able to make comments. This section was put here in hopes that all residents will have a forum to say what feelings or ideas they have regarding issues within the village. We will be posting the minutes of each monthly meeting and also post our ideas of what we would like to do for the advancement of the village and all your input will let us know your feelings.

Love the website...with regard to the welcome however...I see some problems. A story in the Press-Sun Bulletin this week chided Binghamton for having the highest gas prices in the United States....prices that were a full 20 cents per gallon lower than those in Walton. In fact, even Delhi has lower gas prices than Walton.
Yes....Welcome to Walton!

I would like to encourage everyone to attend the Public Hearing for the Town of Walton Budget on Thursday, November 10th, 6:30 PM at the Town Hall, 129 North Street, Village residents need to be aware that the Town is attempting to cut long standing funding for the Parks and Recreation line (pool) - this is a means for town residents to use the summer recreation program, swimming lessons and pool, with no direct usage fee .... Please express your displeasure with this item and ask that the Town continue their contribution to this very important program as they have for many years ... it may lead to a usage fee for town residents if funding is not restored!

I would like to welcome LJF,LLC, the developers of the West/Burton Street senior housing project, who gained approval to begin the project on January 16, 2006 through the Zoning Board of Appeals. This project will bring an increased tax base into the Village, Town and County. More residents mean more shopping, which is great for local business. More residents means an increase in tax revenue, which lightens the load for all of us. More residents mean more construction and hopefully more jobs? The landscaping involved in this project will enhance the previously vacant swamp area. Bravo to the ZBA for approving this win-win project!
